Children's Room
Winter Children’s Room activities will begin Monday, January 30. Here’s what you need to know…
STORY HOUR: Mondays or Thursdays, 10:30 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. Located in the kid’s Activity Room. No sign up is required but space may be limited. There is no age requirement, the recommendation is that children should be able to sit and listen to a few quick stories. A gross motor game or activity usually starts the story time to get everyone moving! Stories are read and a craft project is provided that coincides with the theme of the day.
2 and Under Story Time: Every other Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. Located in the kid’s Activity Room. No sign up is required. We start with our Hello Song then listen to some stories and sing some other songs using our musical instruments. Age appropriate toys are then brought out for the kids to play with, share and socialize. A simple craft or sensory activity will sometimes be provided.
Story Time Fast Track: Mondays from 11:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. AND every other Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Located in the kid’s room Cozy Corner. No sign up is required and there is no age requirement. If you only have time for “JUST STORIES” this is the time for you. Get out of the house, visit the library and meet new friends at Story Time Fast Track. We will start with our Hello Song and end with a sticker or stamp for each child.
Book Review Group: Held the first Thursday of each month (starting March 2nd), from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Recommended for kindergarten and up. No sign up is required. Do you love to read? What’s your favorite book? What was the worst book you ever read? Come to the Book Review Group and share your thoughts by writing your own book review. You can use the computers located in the kid’s room or hand write your review. Craft materials will be provided to enhance your review and the finished products can be displayed here at the library for patrons to read. An age appropriate craft will also sometimes be provided.
See the Children’s Room calendar for the complete schedule. Schedule may be subject to change. Space may be limited for some activities, but every step is taken to accommodate everyone.
Salisbury Public Library asks that a responsible adult accompany children to all activities and please no food or drinks. If there is no school for the Triton Regional School District due to inclement weather, there will be no activities held in the kid’s room.
