Services

Library Membership
Salisbury residents may apply for a library card upon presentation of proof of address. A current drivers license is preferred, but a photo ID with two other forms of proof of residence (rental lease, utility bill, a piece of postmarked mail and or a checkbook with new address) is acceptable. A parent or guardian must fill out and sign applications for any children under the age of 14. Library cards expire every 3 years. If you get a notice from us, just stop in with your ID and we will renew your card for another 3 years.

Local Checkout Periods
Most library materials may be checked out for three weeks. DVDs are checked out for one week. Items with no waiting lists may be renewed by phone or online by logging into your account .

Computer/Internet Use
We have 18 public computers with Internet access and Microsoft Office 2010. To use one of our computers, log in using the 14-digit barcode found on the back of your library card without the spaces. If you are not a library card holder, we can issue you a guest pass. In addition, wireless internet is available throughout the library.

Printing & Photocopying
Library computers are available to print documents. Printing is 0.15 cents for black and white per page, or 0.25 cents per page for color. You can send a print job to the library remotely from your home computer or mobile device by using Printer On. Visit www.printeron.net/salisbury/library and follow the instructions. To retrieve your print job, go to the second floor print station.
Color and black and white photocopying is available. Copies are 0.15 cents per page for B&W and 0.25 cents per page for color.  Cash only, no debit or credit cards.

Scanning & Faxing
A public scanner is available for use.  Scanned documents may be sent to your email or saved to a flash drive from the printer/copier upstairs free of charge.
We have a public fax machine located on the second floor.  Faxes are $2.00 for the first page and $.50 for each additional page.

Study Rooms
Study rooms are located on the second floor. Rooms may be reserved for one 2-hour block per day. To reserve a study room, please call 978-465-5071 ext. 201.  Reservations can be made up to 24 hours in advance. Study rooms hold up to 8 people.

MVLC Membership Benefits
The Salisbury Public Library is a member of a network of public libraries service 36 communities throughout the Merrimack Valley region of Massachusetts called the Merrimack Valley Library Consortium (MVLC).  Nearly 3 million items are quickly available to you through MVLC and just having a Salisbury Public Library card.

Once you have a Salisbury Public Library card you can use it at any library in the consortium! Use it to request books and to access your patron account online. You can also use your library card to access online reference databases (which you can find links to on our Databases page).

Library card holders can also use their card to check out and download audio books to listen to on their own personal devices.

Looking for the latest DVD or video release? Want to read the new best-seller all of your friends are raving about? If our library doesn't have it you can get the item from any other library in the consortium, often in 48 hours or less. If necessary member libraries can even request items for you from libraries all over the country.
