Wireless Hot Spots

The Salisbury Public Library is pleased to offer wireless Hotspot devices for loan to library patrons to increase access to the internet and help bridge the digital divide. Hotspots may be borrowed by Library card holders ages 18 and older with accounts in good standing. You may borrow the device to access the Internet for free at your home, in your car, or anywhere else!

*Please note when you come to the Library to check out the device, you will be asked to complete the SPL Hotspot Agreement, acknowledging financial responsibility for lost or damaged equipment and you must show a photo ID along with your Library card.

Who can borrow a library hotspot?
  • Any MVLC library card holder 18 years and older
  • Patron account must be in good standing (no unpaid fees or lost materials)
  • The library reserves the right to refuse service to anyone who abuses equipment or is repeatedly late in returning hotspots.
  • A returned hotspot must remain available in the library for 24 hours before the same patron, or another patron living in the same household, may check it out

Where do I return the hotspot when I am done?
Hotspots must be returned in-person to the Reference Desk at the Salisbury Public Library. It cannot be returned to another library or the book drop. Devices returned in the book drop will result in a $5 fine. A staff person will do a visual check to ensure that the device and accessories are returned in good condition.

How long can I keep the Hotspot?
You can keep it for 7 days.

Can I renew the Hotspot?
No. You are not allowed to renew at this time.

Are there fines for returning the Hotspot after the due date?
Fines are $5 a day.
