Wireless Hot Spots
The Salisbury Public Library is pleased to offer wireless Hotspot devices for loan to library patrons to increase access to the internet and help bridge the digital divide. Hotspots may be borrowed by Library card holders ages 18 and older with accounts in good standing. You may borrow the device to access the Internet for free at your home, in your car, or anywhere else!
*Please note when you come to the Library to check out the device, you will be asked to complete the SPL Hotspot Agreement, acknowledging financial responsibility for lost or damaged equipment and you must show a photo ID along with your Library card.
Who can borrow a library hotspot?
Where do I return the hotspot when I am done?
Hotspots must be returned in-person to the Reference Desk at the Salisbury Public Library. It cannot be returned to another library or the book drop. Devices returned in the book drop will result in a $5 fine. A staff person will do a visual check to ensure that the device and accessories are returned in good condition.
How long can I keep the Hotspot?
You can keep it for 7 days.
Can I renew the Hotspot?
No. You are not allowed to renew at this time.
Are there fines for returning the Hotspot after the due date?
Fines are $5 a day.
The library offers access to two different types of Hotspots (Verizon and T-Mobile). What are the differences?
Verizon:
T-Mobile:
Note: If the hotspot is not returned to the library when it is due, wireless service will be disconnected and the hotspot will be unusable. International roaming is not available on Library hotspots.

- Any MVLC library card holder 18 years and older
- Patron account must be in good standing (no unpaid fees or lost materials)
- The library reserves the right to refuse service to anyone who abuses equipment or is repeatedly late in returning hotspots.
- A returned hotspot must remain available in the library for 24 hours before the same patron, or another patron living in the same household, may check it out

- Default internet filtering that can be turned off by request
